An uncontested divorce is when a couple has reached an agreement together, and all they need is the help of an attorney to file. In order for a divorce to be truly uncontested, the couple will need to have reached an agreement about all aspects of their divorce including possession of their children and the division of their assets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uncontested divorces are the fastest and least expensive cases. They can take as little as 60 days to be finalized, which is the statutory minimum for Texas. The average contested divorce ranges from about six to eight months. Of course, this is not a guarantee, there are certain factors, all of which have some interplay, which can lengthen the case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What factors can lengthen my divorce? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Factors that can affect the length of divorce include an inability to compromise, high conflict personalities, and individuals with unreasonable expectations, which can often lead to multiple and lengthy trips to the courthouse. Extended litigation will always make the case last longer and increase expenses, usually for both parties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be asking yourself: I&#8217;m going to contest a divorce, what can I do to make the process smoother or go a little bit quicker?
